About the Artist

Hi and welcome to my website and thank you for your time looking around , I was born in the city Toronto Ontario , and in love with the beautiful Kawartha's in Eastern Ontario which is reflected in my unique elemental work.

I was born a creator not really labeling myself as an "artist" and this was recognized in my early education , experimenting with various mediums throughout grade and high schools , although not having formal art training that never stopped me from getting my hands on art books , back then there was no internet like today which makes seeking information much quicker , then I can filter what is relevant to me.

Although late in becoming a full time creator only 5 years I never lost my expression of creativity , having worked in the automotive industry refinishing vehicles for over 20 years working with all the different paints , ie enamels , lacquers and metallics pearls and having the opportunity to airbrush customs.

I have since joined several art organizations in and around the Kawarthas and opened my own studio and open air art gallery ,whereas original art can be hung outdoors in unison with nature , I also enjoy promoting other creators "artists" with outdoor artshows during the summer months on my beautiful property on the banks of the Miskwaa Ziibi river in Trent Lakes.

Each piece of my work is a true one of a kind , drawing from my experiences with nature in my early years exploring remote areas in Alberta and Ontario via the iconic canoe.

I have experimented with every medium available ,  I have now found what makes my creations very unique and out of the so called box , working with natural elements of wood and stone , allowing those materials to speak for themselves.

2020 has been a challenging year , proceeding with limited shows during the summer and fall, spending the end of 2020 and into 2021 in my studio with a fresh outlook and develop my techniques and create new works ready for future shows.

2022-2023 has been very productive years spending most of my time in my studio , winter months are long therefore I spend the majority of my time in my home based studio , the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 I have re-emerged with fresh new idea's which are reflected in my new body of work in include the introduction of burning techniques including pyrography and the introduction of a glow element.

I am very excited to launch a new social project titled "Dedicate a Canoe"

I am currently receiving requests to create little 6" sculpted all natural canoes to be set free in the Miskwaa Ziibi in the spring of 2026.

There is no cost to participate in this new project, the only obligation is that they are required to be you at the river bank.

If you or you know someone that may benefit from this project please reach out to me directly and let's make it happen

Thank you again for your time learning more about me and what I do.

Daniel
